Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 February 2026
1. Agreement
By accessing or using CompliLet ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
CompliLet is a compliance management dashboard for UK landlords. It helps you track certificates, manage deadlines, and monitor compliance with UK rental regulations. The Service is provided by Jelifish Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
3. Account registration
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its related systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or its infrastructure.
- Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without prior written permission from Jelifish Ltd.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout. All prices are exclusive of VAT, which is added at the applicable rate. Payments are processed securely via Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, your access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which your account will revert to the free plan. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of Jelifish Ltd.
6. Data and content
You retain ownership of all data you enter into CompliLet. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of all data you upload.
7. Your compliance obligations
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your properties comply with all applicable UK laws, regulations, and local authority requirements. CompliLet is a tracking and reminder tool only. It does not replace your legal obligation to obtain, maintain, and renew certificates, licences, and other compliance documents in accordance with applicable legislation.
You must independently verify all compliance deadlines, legal requirements, and regulatory obligations. You should not rely solely on CompliLet to determine your compliance status or deadlines.
8. Disclaimer and no legal advice
CompliLet is a compliance tracking tool, not a legal advisory service. The Service does not constitute legal, regulatory, or professional advice of any kind. While we make reasonable efforts to keep regulatory information accurate and up to date, we make no representations or warranties as to the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or currency of any information, guidance, or content provided through the Service.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
You should always consult a qualified legal professional, letting agent, or compliance specialist for advice specific to your circumstances and properties.
9. Reminders and notifications
CompliLet may send email reminders and notifications about upcoming certificate expiry dates and compliance deadlines. These reminders are provided on a best-effort basis only and are not guaranteed. Reminders may be delayed, inaccurate, or fail to send due to technical issues, incorrect data entry, email delivery failures, or other factors outside our reasonable control.
You must not rely solely on CompliLet reminders to meet your compliance deadlines. It is your responsibility to independently track and manage all compliance obligations for your properties, regardless of whether you receive notifications from the Service.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Jelifish Ltd, its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:
- Any fines, penalties, sanctions, or prosecution arising from your failure to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or requirements, including but not limited to the Housing Act 2004, the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations, the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector Regulations 2020, or the Renters’ Rights Act 2025.
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business, goodwill, or anticipated savings.
- Any loss or damage arising from missed deadlines, late renewals, expired certificates, or compliance failures, whether or not reminders were sent or received through the Service.
- Any loss or damage arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information displayed in the Service, including regulatory guidance, penalty amounts, or compliance checklists.
- Any loss or damage arising from interruptions, errors, or unavailability of the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Jelifish Ltd, its directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your failure to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
12. Service availability
We aim to provide a reliable and available Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from service interruptions.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms or for any other reason at our reasonable discretion. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or an in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
